Notifications and Statistics

Release day alerts for upcoming episodes, total screen time tracking, and genre breakdown charts in ShowNest.

Episode Release Alerts

Never miss a season premiere or weekly episode release:

  • Day-of-Air Reminders: with notifications enabled, ShowNest schedules local alerts for shows in your active Watchlist.
  • Clear Information: notifications display the series title and episode numbering clearly (e.g. “New episode: Severance S02E01 is out today”).
  • No Third-Party Push Servers: alerts are scheduled directly by iOS and iPadOS using officially announced broadcast dates from TMDB, preserving your privacy and battery life.

Viewing Statistics Dashboard

The Statistics tab provides insights into your entertainment habits:

  • Total Watch Time: computed by aggregating the actual running time of completed episodes, presented in days, hours, and minutes.
  • Episode Count: total episodes logged since you began using the app.
  • Series Completion Rate: visual overview of how many followed series you have completed.
  • Genre Distribution: interactive donut charts illustrating your preferred storytelling genres (e.g., 40% Sci-Fi, 30% Mystery, 20% Drama, 10% Comedy).
