Introduction to Resizo

Overview of Resizo for Mac: batch image resizing, HEIC to JPEG conversion, EXIF metadata stripping, and offline privacy.

What is Resizo

Resizo is a native macOS application for macOS 13 Ventura or newer (optimized for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs) designed to resize, convert, and optimize image collections in batch with maximum speed and zero friction.

Whether you need to prepare hundreds of iPhone photos for a website, convert HEIC captures to universal JPEGs for printing, or strip location metadata before emailing attachments, Resizo completes the job in seconds utilizing all CPU cores in parallel.

Key Highlights

1. Offline Privacy & Safety

  • 100% Offline: the app contains zero networking modules or network entitlements. Your images never leave your local Mac memory.
  • Default EXIF Scrubbing: protect your privacy when sharing photos online by automatically stripping GPS coordinates, camera models, and timestamps from exported files.
  • Originals Always Untouched: Resizo never overwrites source files, saving new versions with custom suffixes or in dedicated output folders.

2. Multi-Core Performance & Space Savings

  • Parallel Processing: multi-threaded rendering processes multiple images concurrently.
  • Space Saved Gauge: upon completion, the app displays exact megabytes saved per image and across the full collection.

3. Broad Format Compatibility

  • Input: PNG, JPEG, HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, BMP, GIF, and WebP.
  • Output: Original format, PNG, or JPEG with adjustable quality compression.

Quick Workflow

  1. Add Images: drag and drop photos or folders into Resizo’s window, or onto its Dock icon.
  2. Choose Mode: select a preset (e.g. Web 1920px, Social 1080px) or define dimensions in pixels or percentage.
  3. Configure Output: choose output format, set compression quality, and toggle EXIF stripping.
  4. Process: click Resize & Save (or press ⌘ R).
