Introduction to Horologe

Overview of Horologe: watch collection cataloging for iOS and Android with high-resolution photography, service records, timing accuracy, and privacy.

What is Horologe

Horologe is a native mobile application for iOS and Android designed for watch enthusiasts and horology collectors who want to document their timepieces with encyclopedic precision, preserving high-resolution photos, movement specifications, service histories, wrist time logs, and warranty records.

Constructed using premier native technologies (SwiftUI on iOS and Jetpack Compose on Android), Horologe pairs the refined visual aesthetics of fine watchmaking with an offline-first, privacy-respecting architecture.

Core Strengths

1. Detailed Horological Cataloging

Document every timepiece down to subtle technical nuances:

  • Brand, model, nickname, reference, and serial number.
  • Movement architecture (Manual Wind, Automatic, Quartz, Spring Drive, Solar) and caliber reference.
  • Case dimensions (diameter, thickness, lug-to-lug, lug width) and materials (316L/904L steel, titanium, gold, bronze, ceramic).
  • Crystal, bezel, dial details, caseback engravings, water resistance rating, and fitted straps.
  • Acquisition data (purchase price, date, vendor, box and papers status).

Attach dedicated high-resolution shots for each piece (cover shot, dial close-up, case flank, caseback, exposed movement, buckle/strap) alongside receipts, appraisal certificates, and warranty cards in PDF or image format.

3. Maintenance Records & Service Reminders

Log technical maintenance intervals (ultrasonic cleaning, complete movement overhaul, gasket renewal, pressure testing), recording service costs, dates, watchmaker details, and warranty terms.

4. Wrist Time & Chronometric Accuracy

  • Accuracy Log: record timing accuracy deviations (seconds per day) compared against atomic time standards.
  • Wrist Time Tracking: log with one tap when a watch is worn to monitor collection rotation and usage frequency.
